I am writing to you because she said you listen and understand and didn'ttry to sleep with that person at that party even though you could have. Pleasedon't try to figure out who she is because then you might figure out who I am,and I really don't want you to do that. I will call people by different names orgeneric names because I don't want you to find me. I didn't enclose a returnaddress for the same reason. I mean nothing bad by this. Honest.

给你写信是因为听她说，你懂得用心去聆听别人的话。并且即便收到邀请，你也不会随意和派对上的人任“性”。因为有发现我的真身的可能性，希望你也不试着去找出“她”是谁，我是真的不希望你这样做。同样的原因，我提到的人都会用诸如“小明”“小丽”这般的名字，同时我没有留我的住址。别紧张，我没有恶意——真的！
I just need to know that someone out there listens and understands anddoesn't try to sleep with people even if they could have. I need to know thatthese people exist.
I think you of all people would understand that because I think you of allpeople are alive and appreciate what that means. At least I hope you dobecause other people look to you for strength and friendship and it's thatsimple. At least that's what I've heard.
